A note from the Chairman - Andrew Mackness

The General Election is finally underway and from now until May 7th we'll be putting the case forward to elect a strong leadership for Rochester and Strood and return a Conservative MP back to Parliament. This election is the most important in a generation and the Conservatives under the leadership of David Cameron, have started the job to secure the economic future of our Country.

Now we need you to pledge your vote to secure us a further 5 years in government and finish the job. We cannot return to the days of poor leadership. It must be the competence of David Cameron in No.10 not the chaos that Ed Miliband and Alex Salmond have to offer

It is no coincidence that Rochester and Strood has seen unemployment fall by 48% since 2010, and major investment in our community and infrastructure under Conservative leadership. Locally, we have maintained front line services and the lowest Council Tax in Kent, with well-managed balanced budgets, something unheard of under any Labour leadership.

Since forming the Government in 2010, we have cut income tax for 26m people and taken 3m people out of tax altogether; frozen fuel duty meaning that the average family saves around £9 every time they fill up their tank; employment is up by 1.9m, we have backed small business and enterprise with better infrastructure and lower taxes; capped welfare so that no out-of work household can claim more than the average working family earns; started delivering the best schools for young people and a million more pupils are being taught in good or outstanding schools; there are 2m new apprenticeships and we've even secured a cut in the EU budget, which everyone said was impossible.

So vote for Kelly Tolhurst to be your MP and also Vote for your local Conservative Candidates on May 7th, to ensure we all secure the future of Rochester and Strood together.
