100 days

Broken promises, U-turns, and reckless policies define Labour’s start in government.

In just 100 days, Labour has proven why they are unfit to govern. Their reckless decisions and U-turns are already hurting British families, weakening our nation, and undermining our future. Here’s a look at their “achievements” so far:

Support for Pensioners

  • Scrapped Winter Fuel Payments for millions of elderly Britons, leaving pensioners out in the cold.

Education

  • Penalised parents by introducing an “Education Tax” on independent schools.
  • Hiked tuition fees by 13.5% over five years, burdening students even further.
  • Abandoned plans for the National Maths Academy, jeopardising education standards.

National Security

  • Slashed vital military training for the Armed Forces.
  • Sacked one of the nation’s top generals, weakening leadership in national defense.

Crime and Justice

  • Released over 5,000 prisoners early, with 37 let out by mistake. Public safety is now at risk.

Housing

  • Failed to deliver on promises to end leasehold arrangements—another broken pledge.

Science and Technology

  • Scrapped £1.3 billion funding for Britain’s first supercomputer, derailing tech progress.
  • Abandoned Britain’s ambition to lead in science and innovation globally.

Net Zero and Climate Change

  • U-turned on phasing out petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
  • Banned new North Sea oil and gas projects, creating a £20 billion tax black hole.

Immigration

  • Recorded the highest daily total of illegal migrants crossing the Channel in history.
  • Announced a “small boats command”—a gimmick for a measure already in place.

Cronyism and Sleaze

  • Accepted over £100,000 in freebies, outdoing any MP since 2019.
  • Paid Sue Gray a £170,000 taxpayer-funded salary—more than the Prime Minister earns.
  • Charged donors £50,000 for exclusive access to Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner.

Labour promised change, but all they’ve delivered is chaos, waste, and excuses. The Conservative Party will continue to hold them to account and fight for policies that work for you and your family. Stay informed and join us at the Rochester and Strood Conservatives as we work for real change—not reckless policies.
