Out and about over the weekend I had many worried residents speak to me about Labour’s cruel plan to cut the Winter Fuel Payment after handing rises to their Union paymasters.
In Rochester and Strood its estimated that 14,206 pensioners will lose the payment, Labour targeting pensioners many of who are not at all rich, do not have large private pensions, have health issues, don’t have anyway of being able to increase their incomes in retirement and have already struggled with the cost of heating, worked hard their whole lives and some on low wages. I hope the Labour MP for Rochester & Strood does the right thing and votes against her party’s attack on pensioners tomorrow – I urge residents to write to the MP or sign the petition to reverse Labour’s plan to scrap the Winter Fuel Payment – https://www.whatlaboursaid.com/winter-fuel-payment
