Stop the Family Farm Tax

farm tax

We are blessed to live in an area where we still have farming and a landscape that makes this area special. Our rural areas are already under greater threat due to the focus of this Labour Government to make way for large scale housing development on agricultural land.

But now, with the measures announced by the Chancellor at the Budget, family farms locally (most in our constituency are family run farms) who are producing our food could be facing taxes that would make their businesses impossible for their children or next generation to continue, taxes making them unviable and putting our local landscapes at further risk for the future.

The government has said that it wonโ€™t affect many farms but from my own knowledge of our constituency this is totally false โ€“ we make a big thing about backing British Produce, but now is the time to back our local farmers who we are very lucky to still have farming in Rochester & Strood so I am asking people to get behind them and sign this petition ๐Ÿ‘‰ www.stopthefarmtax.com
